AS4254: Duct Classification Standard. Duct pressure classification tables found in the AS 4254 such as low, medium or high pressure. AS4254 explains duct thicknesses, sealing, reinforcement and functional requirements. Refer to table 2.3 for duct thicknesses and reinforcement methods. Changes to 2012 edition as follows. Additional tabs include the calculations per AHRI 885, an NC table, and the dBA calculator. LEED V4 (due out in October 2013) is expected to reference AHRI 885 as a means of determining estimated HVAC sound in both LEED for schools (a prerequisite of 40 dBA) as well as the other LEED programs. At present, the ASHRAE Handbook, which is also. The program provides you with a complete eight-octave band acoustical analysis. It takes into account natural attenuation of duct and fittings, sound power splits, end reflection, insertion loss of insulated duct and fittings and the critical space/room attenuation. It allows entry of any manufacturer’s sound power level data as well as any. VariTrane Duct Designer streamlines duct design and improves calculation precision, letting you optimize your designs while obtaining a minimum pressure system. VariTrane Duct Designer enables you to organize the layout structure of your duct system and provides detailed engineering information on a section-by-section basis making revisions. The program provides you with a complete eight-octave band acoustical analysis. It takes into account natural attenuation of duct and fittings, sound power splits, end reflection, insertion loss of insulated duct and fittings and the critical space/room attenuation. It allows entry of any manufacturer’s sound power level data as well as any manufacture’s equipment sound level used in the system. It is a true, model-all program. The program produces a report that displays whether or not your design meets your required noise level within the critical space. If the sound levels are not met, the program will automatically chooses a duct silencer for you based on your allowable height, width, and length and pressure loss. A final analysis report is produced for you to place in your project file for future reference.
The program has been developed with you in mind.

SIDLAB is a combination of software solutions for the analysis of sound propagation inside duct networks. It is used in the design and optimization of exhaust systems for different applications. The SIDLAB software leverages similar code for all types of duct acoustic applications in research, teaching, and consulting.
SIDLAB Acoustics is used for modeling the propagation of low-frequency sound in complex duct networks. The frequency range is restricted to the plane wave region in the connecting pipes. It is based on the two-port theory, where each element is described by a transfer matrix.
Duct Acoustic Calculation Software Reviews
SIDLAB Flow is an add-on product for SIDLAB Acoustics. It calculates the flow distribution and pressure drop inside the network, and feeds the results into the acoustic simulation in SIDLAB Acoustics.
SIDLAB Measurement is an independent module that calculates the passive properties of muffler elements from the measured data.
SIDLAB products are offered as open source code, enabling advanced users to perform custom analyses. Calculation time is typically a few seconds on a normal PC. Postprocessing within SIDLAB is simple and straightforward, and users can save the results in different formats.

SIDLAB is coded in MATLAB, enabling advanced users to access the source code to make their own modifications and easily perform preprocessing and postprocessing. Users can create links to MATLAB modules, such as acoustic FEM, to generate new element models. All SIDLAB results can be opened in MATLAB for further custom postprocessing.
